Before Your Treatment

Please be advised these are not things you HAVE to do before your appointment, they're just tips to make your treatment more comfortable.

  • Drink lots of water the night before and the day of your appointment

  • Do not use Retinol for 1 week before your treatment

  • If you are doing laser and electrolysis at the same time, wait 1 week between appointments

  • Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen before your appointment (unless advised otherwise by a doctor)

  • Use a numbing cream 40 minutes before hand (Emla, Dr. Numb or Zensa are recommended)

  • If possible, no coffee the day of your appointment or alcohol the night before your appointment as these both dehydrate the skin

  • Get a good night's sleep before your appointment

*Note: You may be more sensitive during treatments when you are menstruating

After Your Treatment

Aftercare is very important to ensure a healthy healing process.

  • Generally keep the area clean. Don't bombard the skin with products after your appointment. Allow the skin to have a break after treatment. If you must, use witch hazel to reduce inflammation or aloe gel to protect and heal the skin. Do not use tea tree oil or rubbing alcohol on the treated area

  • Continue to drink lots of water after your appointment and get plenty of rest

  • Ibuprofen (Advil) can be used to reduce swelling and/or redness after treatment

  • Put ice in a plastic baggy, wrap in a clean towel and place on the area if it feels hot/begins to swell. It is very important to use a clean towel as ice directly on skin can be very irritating to the skin

  • Do not use rubbing alcohol or scented products after treatment

  • Do not use Retinol for 1 week after your appointment

  • Stay out of the sun if possible for 24 hours after treatment and use sunscreen to protect the area after treatment

  • Avoid any activities that can cause you to sweat as this can cause inflammation to the treatment area

  • Wait until the next day to apply lotions or makeup
